Re: access tables in a db2 database

Richard, What is your application written in? If written using Informix application development tools, the DRDA Gateway is your best bet. With the Gateway you won't have to change your application. Release 7.31 of the Gateway is more versatile and powerful. If you have used version 6, I guess you must have used SNA. The latest version of the Gateway supports TCPIP too. -Manas --- Richard Kofler <richard.kofler@chello.at> wrote: > from IDS 9.30.??. > > I only did that back in the 90ies using > V7.12 and DRDA Gateway V6. > > I searched on the IBM Web pages and found 2 > connectivity > products. > > If the customer wants to keep his setup 'as is' > and only wants to be able to make a few selects > via frontend contacting his IDS 9.30, do we need to > install the enterprise gateway product and setup > some > alias tables and or views in IDS 9.30, which point > to > the db2 database tables? > > Or is there another way to archive that > functionality? > > Every hint/advice appreciated. > > dic_k __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
