But you might want to check AIX HIPER IY66147. If you can't figure it out quickly and have to run IDS w/o EXTSHM - try to configure IDS so that it uses a multiple of 256 MB for resident shm segment (check BUFFERS, LOCKS mainly) and that SHMVIRTSIZE and SHMADD is a multiple of 256 MB. (N:B ONCONFIG valzue of SHMVIRTSIZE and SHMADD is in KB , so set it to 262144 or a multiple. HTH Tilman
