Quoting Naomi Walker... } } Question #2 } } My next question is about SE. I am very familiar with all the Informix } tools available to me when using Online. I am not familiar with SE. } In general, are the same or equivalent tools available when using the } standard engine (tbcheck)? How about all the sql statements, like } $ SET EXPLAIN ON/OFF, and $ ALTER TABLE to change things like lock modes } and next extent? } The standard engine has "bcheck" instead of tbcheck. SE has SET EXPLAIN, ALTER TABLE, etc. Some of the commands may be a little different because of the nature of SE though. SE doesn't support VARCHAR, TEXT, or BYTE. SE doesn't have lock modes or extents. SE logs are handled by a single file on the Unix filesystem. Come to think of it... so are the data files and system catalogs. You'll see a lot of similarities... you'll also see quite a few differences.
