nls problem ?

The database is created with german settings. we have moved it to installation with no settings at all (to get the default ones). Does informix store languages dependent information in its datafiles ? we have some strange effects we dont understand else. walter -- ----- "Well, Ivan, you're the one in the navigator's seat.
