Loader searches for libraries in directories specified in the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH. You should add directories that contain ESQL libraries to LD_LIBRARY_PATH. A Web-server may have a directive to setup environment for CGI-scripts. I don't known about the Enterprise server, but Apache has a directive "SetEnv": SetEnv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /local/informix/lib:/local/informix/lib/esql If the Enterprise server does not have such a directive, you can use a shell- script that sets LD_LIBRARY_PATH and then calls your CGI-script. Also, you, probably, can use a direcrive of 'ld' (-R for Solaris, -rpath for Linux) to specify library search directories to the run-time linker. > - Does anybody know how to compile ESQL written C applications in such a > static way, that Informix libraries will not be needed by the web server > at all (because the necessary libraries are already statically linked > into the CGI application). A linker ('ld') has the directive '-Bstatic', that prevents linking against shared libraries. Ilia.
