I see. I am wondering what exactly "their" support of Python consists of. http://www.ibm.com/software/data/informix/ids links to my module, and the IDS 10 Redbook mentions my module. I haven't heard anything about an official Python module. I would like my module to be an official module, but nobody has contacted me about this, despite my repeated attempts at making this happen. At the SEIUG Forum in December 2005 I talked to Christine Normile, who at least got the above-mentioned link posted. No official blessing came, so at the WAIUG Forum in December 2006 I asked Jerry Keesee who I should talk to, and he put me in touch with "the team responsible for the open source APIs for the IBM databases." That team, who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent, introduced themselves to me and then promptly went on Christmas vacation, never to be heard from again. I emailed them again in April 2007 and received zero replies. The mind boggles as to what could be going on inside IBM, which I've decided stands for Insanely Bureaucratic Monster. The individual IBM people I deal with are nice, but the company as a whole is disappointingly dismissive. -- Carsten Haese http://informixdb.sourceforge.net
