Maybe. I'm just asking. They do now with "non proprietary" languages like Cobol, C and others, while others of use have been using "propiretary" solutions like Informix 4GL. We all use "proprietary" compilers though, as we will with Java. > I recall that CIO translates to "career is over". The savings in tools may not be down to $0, but they may be significant. Vendor services costs may not go down. The savings in installation and setup may be significant.
