Hi there,
Some time ago, I saw one or two Select statements on the syssqexplain table
to verify aspects of cost and sorts, scans, indexes and temp files. I
believe the queries are these :
select avg(sqx_estcost), count(*) num, sqx_statement
from syssqexplain
group by 3
order by 1 desc;
and
select * from syssqexplain
where sqx_seqscan =3D 1 or
sqx_tempfile =3D 1 or
sqx_autoindex =3D 1 or
sqx_srtscan =3D 1
order by sqx_estcost desc;
My problem is :
Every time I execute one of these queries (or any other query on the
sysmaster database) my machine hangs and I have to reboot the server. After
reboot, I make an "onstat -m" and get a number of
"Droping TBLSPACE temporary xxxxx. Recovering 8 pages".
My configuration is :
DEC ALPHA 1000 with 128 Mb RAM, 4 Gb HD
INFORMIX 7.20=20
This machine is used only in development and it has more or less 15 users,
shared memory medium of 50 MB.
If anyone knows what this can be I'd like to know. I already contacted the
Tech Support and they don't know why is this occuring.
Thanks
Antonio Arthur
