The name of your machine must not contain underscore character. 2. The informix user must have 'Log on locally' right to the NT. You must give 'Log on locally' rights to individual users because it wont work if you create a group of 'Informix_users' and give rights for the group. 3. The NT allows long user names (more than 8 char) and user names are case insesitive. When grant connect right to users trim the username to 8 char long. The database is case sensitive. Thus then usernames must differ in the first 8 char and must login case sensitive.
