If you are using 4GL, just set the date to an integer variable, but that's the number of days since Dec 31, 1899. So, for the day number in the current year: main define d0, d1 date; define i1 integer let d0="12/31/2000"; let d1=TODAY; let i1=d1-d0 display i1 end main You can use the built-in date functions to set the d0 variable to the last day of the year previous to the date you are working on.
