Does anyone have any suggestions of a database server that fits the following guidelines: * ODBC compliant; * client supported WIN NT, WIN 95 and WIN 3.1; * server supported WIN NT, WIN 95 and Novell (3.x); * multiple concurrent users (not the same as multi-user); * royalty-free distribution preferred -- low cost acceptable; * support record locking, logging, rollback, and transaction-based processing. I'm working on an application that will be used for educational purposes. The application needs a way to pass and share data between students, and we were hoping to use a database server for this purpose. The problem is, the servers that I've found to meet the requirements above cost more than the application itself. :( Any help would be appreciated. Please respond to my email address.
