Yes it will be but steam pipe is only useful for local clients running on the server box. BTW shared memory (ipcshmem) is also available on your platform (and on all platforms) it is just universal so it is not mentioned in the release notes files and shared memory is the fastest method of all so long as the security issues are not a problem for you.
