DB's on CD's (again)

I'm going to re-ask this because I misspoke (typed?) earlier. What we want to do is put historical OL 5.0 databases (along with the 4GL's that are current w/ the data) onto CD-ROM where they can STILL be accessed ON LINE. I didn't mean that we wanted to output an archive ( I know, that's what I typed! :o) We want to make "last year's" DB static but also available for query and reporting (thru the 4GL's that currently accompany it.) -- Is it do-able? -- Does anybody know how to do this? -- What about 1Gig+ databases? ie. spanning a single volume. What about putting them on DVD, since the DB will span a single CD-ROM? We may, in the near future, upgrade to OL 7.x. -- Will our old 5.0 databases be "broken"? I think it depends on your hardware and OS. I'm sure our 4GL's will need to be (at least) recompiled. Thanks! Chuck Jackson System Administrator Waco ISD
