Actually, what this post says is that you can't do a "Point in Time"
recovery using ontape, which is true (unless your chosen point in time
happens to fall between two log tapes, or files (in your case).
This would be true whether you backed up to disk or tape. His statement
"You will not be able to restore one logical log file" should be taken quite
literally, i.e. you can restore a full file's worth of tapes, but not "one
logical log." (unless you set LTAPESIZE to the size of one logical log, I
guess.)
