Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Mark Townsend said he sympathised with the Informix people on the comp.databases.informix forum and had lurked there for over seven years, and that he did not think he breached business conduct guidelines. Steve Pearson mocked the word lurker; Paul Watson and Obnoxio The Clown added jokes. A social exchange with no technical content.

Well - not really. I do think the Informix people on this forum are
getting a raw deal. And I have known a lot of them here for well over a
decade (albeit as able adversaries). So I think I get to comment. To
paraphrase Quentin Crisp "I am one of the stately lurkers of c.d.i".

Yep - we have business conduct guidelines. I don't think I'm in breach.

Well - turns out it's a little over 7 years (at least as far as google
is concerned). Just seems like a decade

A bit like married life, really.

Bye now,

did i mention i like nulls? heck, i even go so far as to say that all
columns in a table except the primary key could/should be nullable. this
has certain advantages, for example, if you need to insert a child record
and you don't have a parent row for it, just do an insert into the parent
table with the primary key value (everything else null), and voila,
relational integrity is preserved. but this is, admittedly, a bit
controversial among modellers.
