Hi,
I'm comming from Oracle world and have the following task to do with
Informix 7.3 on Linux:
We have a ontape level 0 baclup of the database.
Now I need to restore the data of one single table.
Can you give me advice in detail, how to proceed?
Regards,
Antje

You cannot do that unless the table lives in a private dbspace with no
other tables in it. The level of granularity of an ontape restore is
either the entire instance or one or more dbspaces. Keep in mind that
Informix archives are system level physical archives NOT table level
backups.
Having said that there IS a utility in the IIUG Software Repository,
under the Special Software section that MAY be able to extract a single
table from the archive into a format that onload can use to restore the
table. This is the arcunload utility.
