INFORMIX 5 : is there a SQLHOSTS file ?

Hi ! I have been using Informix 7.2 / CLI 2.5 / ODBC. Now, I have an application I need to test against an Informix - Online 5 Database. The database was installed, I have created tables etc.. The problem is connecting to this database via CLI or ODBC. I was not able to configure them the way I did with INFORMIX -7. In the $INFORMIXDIR/etc directory there is no SQLHOSTS file. Instead there is a TBCONFIG file. Where do I get The SERVICE NAME for the database from ? I found the database server name in the TBCONFIG file. When I called up Informix tech support they said to create a file called SQLHOSTS with similar info as in Informix 7 in this directory. but this didn't work . Hope someone can help me out.
