esql on Redhat 5.1

Here are the two things I had to do to get an esql program to compile and run on Linux Redhat 5.1: 1. Add the following lines to .profile after setting INFORMIXDIR LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:$INFORMIXDIR/libexport LD_LIBRARY_PATH (of course, for the first time, re-log in or do a . .profile to set the variable) 2. Compile source modules as follows: esql -o demo demo.ec -L /usr/lib -lcrypt Maybe these steps will go away when Informix for Redhat 5.1 is supported but I don't think the extra work is too bad.
