INFORMIX TERMCAP QUESTION

In our application, users want to interchange enter key and F9 key ( in 4gl ). I have changed termcap file to map CTRL-M ( CR ) to f9 key val, so in effect , when users press enter key ( CTRL-M) informix thinks it is F9. This was easy, but the problem is I cannot map F9 to enter key. Even if I specify cr=F9 sequence, it does not work. Any idea how can i override carriage return in termcap file?
