Business rules are implemented in Informix through the thoughtful use of all of Informix's facilities: Check constraints Default constraints Primary Key constraints Foreign Key constraints Cascade delete options Triggers Views Synonyms Stored Procedures If you have IDS/UDO you can even create abstract data types and upload programming algorithms in to the database by writing your own Datablades.
