Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
S.P. Wiggers found that on a new 7.31 UD1 Solaris server queries had to give the table owner (username.items), unlike on the old server. Michael Krzepkowski asked if the database is in ANSI mode. Jonathan Leffler said selecting from systables as an ordinary user fails in a MODE ANSI database, and the only way to change mode is to recreate it, e.g. dbexport and dbimport.

Hello,
The problem I have is since we have an extra server
at our old server (installed by an external company) I used the
sql-statement without specifying the user which created the table
for example : select * from items
But at our new server we need to specify te username which created the table
for example: select * from 'username'.items
Both server have the same version of informix installed : 7.31 UD1 on
solaris
Any Idea's ? I hope I don't have to reprogram all my applications....
thanx in advance

What happens if you (running as an ordinary user and not informix) say
'select tabname from systables where tabid = 1'?
If it says no such table, you have a mode ansi database.
There is no easy way to change a database from MODE ANSI to any other
mode. Recreate from scratch - dbexport and dbimport is plausible.
