Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to transfer data from the
database directly into a file.
eg:
buf="select <col> from <table> where <whatever>"
EXEC SQL prepare id from :buf;
EXEC SQL declare my_cursor cursor for id;
EXEC SQL open my_cursor;
EXEC SQL fetch fa_cursor into <file>.
What I need is a way to unload a very large table into a file
as quickly as possible. I'm using Informix SE 4.1 on an HP9000
897 running HP-UX 9.04.
Any suggestions would be appreciated,
Randall Courtney
