Yes well that's because they are clueless. I have used UPDATE STATS on systems running against 4gl programs and have had 0 problems. Go to www.iiug.org and get Art Kagels utils_ak2. Use dostats from within that to do update statistics and IDS works fine. If they do that can still get problems and are not running very old versions of IDS then post here. I would expect 9.40.UC7, 10.00.UC4 when it comes out Real Soon Now or the latest 7.31 release. You should be able to upgrade 7.31 -> latest 7.31 9.40 -> latest 9.40 10.00 -> 10.00.UC4 free of charge if you have valid support. What versions of IDS and 4GL are they running?
