Re: FW: Error Posting to informix-list

I am currently working on a Linux problem. We run a lot of web applications using the Informix Webdatablade. It works great when you use it to just do web apps and then read the data from another platform such as HP, IBM etc. I have to agree with Murray that it is not quite ready for "prime time". Unfortunately, we are trying to push the limit on Red Hat Linux and are having problems (see my posting yesterday). I still feel that Linux is going to be a great operating system but it just has to grow up. We have had lots of problems getting the configuration to work - the correct glibc version etc. Some machines we have "hanging" issues - the server stops and we need to press the reset button. We would never attempt to run hundreds of users with our application on one server (we have pushed the users with SCO Openserver and Windows). It is easy with Intel hardware to run our of IO or CPU resources. > > MW > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: owner-informix-list@iiug.org > > [mailto:owner-informix-list@iiug.org]On Behalf Of Gary Quiring > > Sent: Wednesday, 11 February 2004 4:12 p.m. > > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Subject: Informix and Linux opinions/who is running production > > > > > > I would like to know if we have any shops out here running IDS 9.x on > > Linux in a production environment where you have at least 300+ users > > connected at one time.
