Variable Length INPUT?

Can anybody think of a nice, easy simple solution for this? Account Number is a char(15) in the database. Each customers has a specific length account, e.g Customer A uses char(9), customer B users char(12), etc. Using the same form and input for all customers, the attribute reverse displayed on screen needs to be the length of the customers account length, e.g If customer A was inputting an account then only 9 chars would be in reverse.
