Time series?
Posted in 2007
I think both Oracle and DB2 have time series, however I don't hear much about them. IMHO, the time series data type seems pretty straight forward. You'd have your data type that on your row data would point to a linked list of blob pages where the individual time series elements are stored. Then you'd have to write the retrival/managment functions about the elements in the time series. So if they were discrete, you'd have an index with the blob page and its offset. The reason I find this interesting is that if you think about it, this is something that could be implemented in Derby or another database, no? _________________________________________________________________ More photos; more messages; more storage'get 5GB with Windows Live Hotmail. http://imagine-windowslive.com/hotmail/?locale=en-us&ocid=TXT_TAGHM_migration_HM_mini_2G_0507
