If you mean that you use Seagate Backup Exec (which I know nothing about, BTW)
to back up your Informix data files, while Informix is on-line and people are
using it, then yes, it is most likely that your data integrity is blown when you
restore the backup. How it works is that it doesn't work (AFAIK). You should
use one of the Informix backup utilities (e.g. ontape) to back up your Informix
database.
