I often run a lot of reports as batch jobs using cron. In this case, only 1 uid is involved. Adam seems to think that this is an exploitation of the licensing conditions. As far as I can see, assuming that the jobs are started out of hours, there is no practical difference between cron starting a master Informix process which reads a table for reports to run and RUNs them sequentially (only ever 2 processes active) and RUNs them without waiting. And as for the comment that power users should buy a higher licence:- I thought Informix *was* for power users. Otherwise, we'd program in a debased language or Oracle :) I've got Oracle, Progress, Informix and a couple of others. By choice, Informix is the favourite due to the fact that you *can* push it.
