Re: Revoke permission

Yes, I did notice in books that DBA has grant authorization, create/drop anything. Yet, NO revoke at table level. Only the owner of the table can REVOKE. I think INFORMIX needs to change THIS!!!!!! If i remember correctly in DB2 with DBA authority you can do it all. If a shop is set up correctly a database should only have two DBA's at most (one for backup). My work around now is to create the tables NOT with my ID or my production operators administration ID (they normally run the major long DBA functions and production posting process),but an ID that is consider to belong to the DBA. Presently they are being created with the operations admin ID, It can do more on the system then I need authority to do or want to do. Yet I have to have them perform the tables revokes since they own the tables. How about it INFORMIX!!!! ALLOW the DBA to REVOKE table level permissions, even if the DBA is NOT the table level owner or grantor of the permission! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cheryl Kendricks Internet: cherylk@spamis.jcdc.doleta.gov OR cherylk@prod1.jcdc.doleta.gov OR kendric@gwysmtp.jcdc.doleta.gov DTSI, Inc.
