Re: ROM - How to ?

Hi Satish, I understand that you made appropriate entries in your server: 1) /etc/services 2) $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts Note: The entries in 'sqlhosts' should match to the 'services' entries. Now at the client side: 1) .../system32/drivers/etc/services Create an entry here. The port no. should be same as that in your 'services' file at the server. 2) Open setnet32. Choose 'Server Information' tab. Here, enter the following: i) Informix server name -- as in sqlhosts file at the server ii) host name -- as in hosts file of your client iii) protocol name -- as in sqlhosts file (net type) iv) service name -- as in services file at your client. 3) Choose the 'Host information' tab. Here enter all the required information. Shouldn't be a problem! Done. To test the configuration, use the ilogin demo. Choose File-Run. Enter all the information. In place of Stores Database enter your intended database name. Click OK. Success!! A popup window will be open with totally unrelated information!!! Else, you will get an error/alert window. HTH ..
