Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
eko setyawan got a memory fault (core dump) when running a report built with Informix-4GL 7.20 UC4, though it compiled cleanly. Paul Watson asked if gcc was used with -fwriteable-strings. Michael Krzepkowski suggested checking uninitialized variables and large records passed as parameters. Ronald Cole advised compiling and linking with -g and using a debugger. No confirmed fix.

If you are using gcc have you set -fwriteable-strings.

Hi!
If you are using compiler 4GL also check for not initialized variables or very
large records passed as parameters - pass absolute minimum number of values.

There are lots of other ways to make a compiled app core dump....
Best bet is to just compile and link with -g and then use a debugger
to find the offending line.
