Hi. Is it possible to modify data type from varchar to text with alter table command? I used command like "alter table table_name modify (column_name text...) but it didnt work at all. Please let me konw.. Thanks in advance..
Hi, what do You mean with >>didn't work at all<< ? Did You get an SQL error ? I don't know if the desired change is possible, but if yes: It is NOT an 'in-place-alter-table' , that means the whole table is copied into the new structure in one single statement/transaction : exclusive locking necessary, enough disk space to hold the table two times and risk of long transaction!
