Task Scheduler tk_dbs and locale problem
Posted in 2010
Hello, I have a database with "en_us.UTF8" db_locale, and I want to run an spl procedure periodically using IDS 11.70xC1 I created the entry in the sysadmin:ph_task table, and set the "tk_dbs" field to "mydatabase", and the tk_execute to "myprocedure". Myprocedure is an (int, int) procedure. The procedure doesn't get executed, the engine looks for it in sysadmin and not in mydatabase. When I enter "execute procedure myprocedure..." way I get the following error: myprocedure not found.... It seems that the engine uses the sysadmin database, and not the database I have specified in the "tk_dbs" field. If I try setting the "tk_execute" field to "EXECUTE PROCEDURE mydatabase:myprocedure(0,0)", or any other procedure in that database for that matter, I get the Database locale mismatch. The sysadmin db is standard us english, mydatabase is us english UTF8. I have even tried to set "SET COLLATION 'en_us.UTF8'; execute procedure mydatabase:.....", but I get the same locale mismatch error. I don't understand what the tk_dbs field really does, because the scheudler always looks for the procedure in the sysadmin table. Even a simple update statement in the execute field tries to execute on sysadmin, and not the tk_dbs database. Any thoughts on running tasks in different databases than sysadmin with different locales? Thanks, George
