Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Gabriel asked whether Informix has a function to URL-decode a varchar column holding values like %20. Fernando Nunes said no, but with 9.40 or later one could write a UDR in Java or C. Claus Samuelsen suggested the regexp bladelet. Paul Watson (Oninit) added that it is built into the WebBlade, otherwise download the regexp datablade. No single confirmed solution.

Hi,
I have a table where a varchar attribute is written as an URL encoded
string, i.e. for example, space character is written as '%20' and so
on.
Is there any function in informix that allows me to url decode this
attribute?
TIA,
Gabriel

No, but if you're using 9.40+ you could write one in Java or C:

(for v10)

You can do it with a regular expression, but to do this you have to
install the regexp bladelet, see
