DB2 Magazine
Posted in 2004
Not a technical problem thread at all — it's an announcement that DB2 Magazine (free, quarterly, also online at db2mag.com) would carry Informix-specific inserts in Q3 and Q4 2004, be mailed to some 14,000 Informix customers and IIUG members, and appear as an Informix eBook online. The replies are friendly banter between Informix and DB2 people comparing features (select-from-insert, INSTEAD OF triggers, MDC, GUI admin, federation, summary tables). A question about select-from-insert was deflected to the DB2 newsgroup, so no technical resolution is recorded.

DB2 Magazine is a free quarterly magazine that currently only gets distributed to IBM DB2 customer base. It is also available online at www.db2mag.com. Starting from 3Q04, for the first time, - there will be an Informix specific inserts in the 3Q and 4Q 2004 publications - the same publications will be distributed to over 14,000 existing Informix customers and all IIUG members - there will also be an Informix eBook created for the online version of DB2 Magazine in the Q3 and Q4 releases. An email notification for this eBook will be sent to the same Informix customer base as mentioned above
Been getting it for a year or so now, it's quite amusing to see DB2 users getting excited about all the features IDS has had for years :-)) scottishpoet wrote: > > DB2 Magazine is a free quarterly magazine that currently only gets > distributed to IBM DB2 customer base. If you ask your question in comp.databases.ibm-db2 I'll happily answer there. My "counter-joke" to Paul was not intended to hijack this thread. .. or you can send me an email, if you please. Cheers Serge -- Serge Rielau DB2 SQL Compiler Development IBM Toronto Lab
And it will also be interesting to see the IDS customers get excited when they see some things in IDS that DB2 has had for quite a while.... ;-) M.Pruet "Paul Watson" <paul@oninit.com> wrote in message news:40AB701C.FD309B0C@oninit.com... > Been getting it for a year or so now, it's quite amusing to see > DB2 users getting excited about all the features IDS has had for > years :-)) > > scottishpoet wrote: > > > > DB2 Magazine is a free quarterly magazine that currently only gets > > distributed to IBM DB2 customer base.
