Hi Paul, i think the real problem is that the system is running out of locks while inserting the rows into the table. We had a similar problem with a misleading error message. Check the online.log for details. Use the dbload utility to load the contents of the table or try locking the table before you running "the load from insert" statement. This can cause problems when your database is using transactions (long transaction aborted). Greetings, Joerg
