sounds logical (no pun intended!) to me. If you use tapes, you don't
stop and restart continous backup without changing the tape - if you
did, you would expect to lose any data in the old logs. Rather than doing
a level-0 every time, why not write a script that stops ontape -c, gets
the log numbers from the output of this (I'm assuming that ontape is similar
to tbtape), copies the log files to another location, then restarts ontape -c
(obviously not in the background :-) ).
Just a thought.
