Linux on Hp

Hi list I've a HP pavilion 8575C pc 550 MHz, 128 SDRAM, 20GB HDD, CD-RW with Win 98 second edition. Can I install Linux and Informix free version (or thru Intraware) on the same ? Can somebody advice. > TIA > > Mukund Shevkar > ______________________________________________________ > Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com Yes you can. 1) Buy Red Hat 6.1 CD 2) Insert RH6.1 CD in CD drive and insert RH6.1 Boot diskette in floppy drive. 3) Reboot. 4) Complete install partitioning all or just unused portions of drive for Linux and telling LILO how to dual boot to Win98 if desired. 5) Configure PPP to talk to your ISP (get PPP-How-To if not on the RH CD). 6) Download from IntraWare. 7) Get install instructions from Informix WEB Site IDN Linux Corner. 8) Install Informix. 9) Get configuration How-To from IIUG WEB Site. 10) Configure and start IDS. OK some of this is obvious but your question is so open ended... Art S. Kagel
