Sorry, I just want know how to change some Environment Variables of Unix without quit the DBACCESS (like Alter Session of Oracle). Thanks.
What are trying to accomplish? If you need to change your
$INFORMIXSQLHOSTS or $INFORMIXSERVER and have it affect your current
session, then no, you must restart dbaccess. If you just want to attach
to a different server, just make sure the other server is available in
you sqlhosts file and use SQL:
database my_other_database@my_other_server
--EEM

You cannot, but some of what you may be wanting to do can be done other ways. What is it you want to be able to change? General to the list: PLEASE post your problem. Don't ask how to implement the solution you thought of that you can't make work. It wastes bandwidth and almost never gets you the answer you need on the first try. Art S.
