Hi Stephane !
I have no explanation for your isql problem. Concerning MS-Access, I
have detected, that CLIENT_LOCALE is only used for PassThrough-SQLs.
SQLs executed by the jet engine take the current windows environment, if
no format is specified.
I do not know if there is a possibility in I-Net 5.01 to set a value for
CLIENT_LOCALE. Probably not. If CLIENT_LOCALE is not set the default
(en_us.8859-1) is taken. We use Informix-Connect 7.20.TE1 (successor of
I-Net, just a new name) which gives you the possiblity to set the
LOCALE's. The values are stored in the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Informix/Environment. Perhaps it helps if you
set the variables manually for I-Net 5.01.
You can not change the GLS environment of a database. You have to drop
and recreate it. To be sure that the new DB_LOCALE setting becomes
active you have to shut down and restart Informix. The current GLS
environment of a database is stored in the systables. The following
SELECT shows you the current setting:
SELECT site
FROM systables
WHERE tabname = ' GL_COLLATE'
Hope this helps !
Tschuess,
Dirk
