Given that you are using 4.1, the answer is No. The '||' operator was introduced in version 5. If your engine is a 5.x server, then you can use '||' in an SQL script -- they aren't parsed -- but not in ACE reports. Upgrading won't help much, either. When 7.30 is released (later this year), it will have support for '||' operators. Until then...
