AFAIK, there aren't any connectivity issues between ODBC 3.81 on Windows & IDS 7.31 on HP. I am guessing it could be some problem with the setnet settings (equivalent of sqlhosts on Unix) due to which the client is unable to connect. I don't have Informix on my pc, the server is a HP L2000 HP-UX 11.00 Informix IDS 7.31 64 bit. I can't figure how to have odbc working. From windows and a quite old K250 HP-UX 10.20 Informix 7.31 32 bit, I can connect without problems. I followed the Informix instructions and the howto on the unixODBC site but nothing works. Is there anyone with some ideas or i have to install the IDS on my pc too?
