CSDK in Windows 2003 64 bits

People, I'm installing a web server windows 2003 64 bits and IIS 2.0 64bits to connect to a Informix server 10.00.FC8. I installed the clientSDK in two version without success. First clientsdk.3.50.FC1.DE.WIN.zip, after clientsdk.3.00.FC3.DE.WIN.zip. I met the same error. Trying to connect with client is all right, but inside IIS it raises the error "The 'ifxoledbc.2' provider is not registered on the local machine." Somebody knows how can I fix that? Thanks, Celso
Hi Celso, I think the Informix OLE DB Provider should be automatically installed and the driver's DLL registered when we install the Informix CSDK using the Custom Install process and select the OLEDB Provider among the options. Not sure though if there are additional considerations for Windows 64-bit, or if this same following procedure applies for Windows 64-bit, but maybe you can still use regsvr32 utility to get the driver manually registered: << from the oledb manual: During installation, the IBM Informix OLE DB Provider DLL is copied to INFORMIXDIR\\\\bin. If IBM Informix OLE DB Provider is copied to your computer but still is not visible in the enumeration, make sure the DLL is registered on the local computer. To register the DLL: 1. Go to INFORMIXDIR\\\\bin. 2. Run the regsvr32 command on the DLL (ifxoledbc.dll). >> Also info here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/blogs/page/idsteam?entry=using_multiple_versio n_of_csdk (look for: OLE DB Provider) Hope it helps. It appears that Informix OLEDB provider is not being registered during installation. Alternatively after successful installation, you can go to %INFORMIXDIR%\\\\bin directory on command prompt and run "regsvr32 ifxoledbc.dll" command. Also, you have to create OLEDB schema information, to do that you need to run %INFORMIXDIR%\\\\etc\\\\coledbp.sql file against "sysmaster" database with "informix" user. Question, Is this new application you are developing? If so, did you also consider ODBC and ADO.NET providers? As I heard ODBC/ADO.NET is more stable (at this moment) in Win64 than OLEDB !! -Shesh "Celso Cabral Coimbra" <ccoimbra@cleartech.com.br> Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org 10/08/2008 07:07 Please respond to ids@iiug.org To ids@iiug.org cc Subject CSDK in Windows 2003 64 bits [13045] People, I'm installing a web server windows 2003 64 bits and IIS 2.0 64bits to connect to a Informix server 10.00.FC8.
