I use Informix Online 7.11 UC1 on SCO 3.2.4.2 and Informix Online 7.12 UC 1 on SCO Openserver 5 (3.2.5). Both versions DB-Access the come with Online have the same filename problem. The DB-Access that comes with version 7.12 is even worse. I produces a core dump if you enter a "very" long file name (about 18 characters). I called Informix Belgium and they gave me the following explanation : "It's not a bug, it's a feature to maintain compatibility with DB-Access for Windows". Informix tools behave strangely : try to create a stored procedure with I-SQL. It won't work, only if you create a procedure that contains no code. This to is "a feature" according to Informix. You're supposed to use DB-Access for these things, because "DB-Access is more closely related to the database engine". Strange features ... Koen
