However, I work in technical support too. The idea of turning someone away when they're trying to *install* a product seems strange to me. The idea of turning someone away who is trying to install a product that they will be using to give free demonstrations of *my* product seems even stranger. You see, I spent over an hour on the phone to three different Informix offices. At one point I got to speak to a technician who said that he was only authorised to give me yet another phone number. That was the point at which I gave up. Seems to me you only get paying customers by selling product, and you'll only sell product by showing folks that it works. Maybe that's just me. My customers and prospects will be seeing Acucobol's software running against various databases. They frequently ask me what I think of the pros and cons of the various offering. I'm a fairly truthful kind of guy...... Whatever, thanks for the help. It was very much appreciated. I guess it's not the support folks I'm upset with, it was the Guardians of The Portal that got to me.
