Hi Jake,
I do this a little differently.
I write
echo "select ..from...where..." | dbaccess mydatabase
and then if I don't want to see the errors
echo "select ...from...where..." | dbaccess mydatabase 2>/dev/null.
You can grep -v the output from the first style and eliminate unwanted
output, but I have yet to find a way get dbaccess to eliminate it.
Also, I think it's an either or situation. Either you get the error
messages by leaving off the dev/null redirection or you put it on and
don't see them. This has been my experience and I end writing little
ESQL/C apps frequently to cover some bases.
