Hi I have a 4CPU HP Alpha running Tru64 5.1B with 12GB RAM. We are running Informix IDS 7.31FD2 We increased the memory from 4GB to 12GB and I would like to know if anyone has some baseline kernel parameters that have worked for them. We have the base settings from the machine notes. We are getting extra virtual segments during the day and while running "top", I see 5G-6G of memory always free. I think we can make some changes to better utilize that free RAM. Any suggestions or directions to previous work would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary LaBonte
Fold the extra virtual segments into the initial segment for the next restart by adding their sizes to SHMVIRTSIZE in the ONCONFIG file. Art S.
