Dear INFORMIX newsgroup readers, I encountered a problem concerning INFORMIX NET for WINDOWS. I always get the error message "User's password is not correct for the database server" when I want to access an INFORMIX ONLINE 5.02 database server residing on a UNIX PC running INTERACTIVE UNIX (ISC) Version 4.0. Connections to other servers are no problem at all, i.e. to ONLINE- servers on SysVR4 machines. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Please answer by email! Here some details: Client PC: Toshiba T3400 with Windows 3.11, ftp ONNET210, Q+E ODBC Driver Pack. No problems with any other connections. The error occurs when trying to access the server via MS-ACCESS 1.1. Server: i486DX/66 running INTERACTIVE UNIX (3.2) Version 4.0, INFORMIX ONLINE 5.02, INFORMIX STAR 5.01. Password entries are correct. Several different user names and passwords have been tested. .rhost an /etc/hosts.equiv entries have been tried out also. Works fine with other UNIX systems as mentioned above. After the error message, the sqlexecd on the server system hangs and must be killed manually. There are logging entries which look much similar to the logging entries on other UNIX systems where no problems are reported. Again: It would help much if You send useful hints to me by email.
