database isolation mode

is it possible to change the default isolation mode on a database ? (in the onconfig,....?) i need a dirty read isolation mode on the sessions (to run crystal reports) but i can't send a 'set isolation' command with crystal then i must set the isolation to dirty with an other method. thanks, Nathan
You
can try this:
1) create a procedure in which you set the isolation to dirty read
create procedure dirty_read() returning smallint;
set isolation to dirty read;return 0;
end procedure;
2) create a view on top of this
create view dirty_read(dr_out)as
select dirty_read() from systables where tabid = 1
3) make a subreport in which you select from the view

Thanks for your idea. it will work (a view is not necessary: it is possible
to put a SPL result field directly on a sub report)
but this solution is not very performant and i'll must change all the
reports to put a subreport in...i would find a method on the database only
(trigger on a systable could perhaps execute the sql statement....?....how
to do this)
thank
Nathan
