how do you mean that?
data: 0001318 50St 700 014N04AA02000,002
count:1234567 8901 234 56789z123456789d1
data: 2
count: 2 = 32
OR:
data: 0001318 50St 700 014N04AA02000,002
count:123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.123456789.12345
data: 2
count:6789.1234 = 64
If you mean the hole dataline up to the End of line or carridge return: in
the file with the medicament-data the row counts 89 characters ( including
the blanks), some rows count 69, this differs, but 96 I did not see in
this file. Other filese contain much mor long lines, almost 1000
characters, containing some Text related to the medikament.
As far as I understand dbload finds some sign at the end of the line and
does the load into the table-field, without understaning what it means.
If this is the case, I am with INFORMIX, I do not understand as well :-)=
I think, I will sell this question at eBAy for 1 ?.
Have a nice evening.

Is the line length at least 96 characters? I'm not sure how dbimport
would handle an unexpected end of line...
eThe line-length is shorter, but can be longer as well ( in some files). I could solve the problem by cleaning the files through the help of jack parker: awk 'BEGIN {RS="\\r"} {printf("%s\\n",$0)}' input.file > output.file Thanks to the usergroup philipp Walderdorff > >
